We are fortunate to be working with other animal rescue organizations, animal professionals, coupled with tremendous community involvement.
Inspired by our mutual passion for horses and by a shared desire to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth living in Santa Barbara County, Barbara Perkins and C.C. Beaudette-Wellman have collaborated to bring our two Santa Barbara County 501 c (3) foundations together forming a program called "Horse Angels", kids helping horses helping kids. We are always trying to get our basic needs met. Our recognition from the S.P.C.A. International for our outstanding work and tireless efforts to improve the lives of neglected, abused and abandoned animals in the Santa Ynez Valley was a great honor.
Our first priorities are securing our food and medical fund. We have 14 beautiful horses, most of whom are special needs, which can be financially challenging. Since the cost of hay has risen dramatically, we have experienced quite an onslaught since the economy has caused so many people to abandon their animals.
We desperately need help in the form of volunteers! Experience is not necessary, just a love of animals, being dedicated and on time is all that is required.
Until we get our facilities completed, we won't be able to save as many animals without qualified foster homes. If you have room in your heart and your home to foster an animal who would otherwise be euthanized, please give me a call.
